Diagnose first
- I do not understand the task → get the instructions explained.
- I understand it but cannot choose → write the two options and pick the one you can evidence.
- I have sources but no argument → write your answer in one sentence and build backward.
- I have an argument but cannot write → talk it aloud and transcribe.
- I have run out of time → triage against the rubric and ask about an extension today.
Take a five-minute step
Open the document. Write the objective at the top. Add three headings. Momentum is built by finishing something small, not by resolving to try harder.

Your professor, your university's writing centre, a study group, or a support service like ours. Asking for help understanding a task is not academic misconduct — submitting someone else's work is. Those are completely different things.
Protect the deadline
If you are going to miss it, say so in advance and in writing. Almost every institution treats an early request far better than a late submission.
